Palming · 6 breaths

Rub the palms warm. Cup them lightly over closed eyes. Six slow breaths, four counts in, six counts out. The exhale is longer on purpose.

This is the standard 60-second palming session, scaled up from Quick Palming. Six breaths is enough to drop heart rate and reset eye-muscle tone, and the longer exhale recruits the vagal pathway more decisively than the inhale. The combination of total darkness, warmth, and slow breathing is one of the most reliable parasympathetic resets available in under a minute.

  • Halfway through a long PR review
  • When eye strain has progressed past dryness into actual fatigue
  • After a deep-work block that ran longer than planned
  • Late afternoon, before the second pass on the day’s hardest task

The 60s version is the sweet spot. Short enough to fit between agent calls, long enough to actually feel different on the other side.
